FAQs

Quick answers for our Restoration Services.

  • What’s the difference between mould that requires remediation and restoration?

Great question. Essential shield values your business, that’s why we take the utmost care in assessing wether a job requires remediation or restoration. Most jobs require a simple remediation, our tried and tested service that has been offered for nearly two decades. Whilst some staining can remain, the mould is taken care of. However in some cases, usually when water damage meets mould, the job may require restoration, which includes replacing gyprock and repainting. We handle all this for you.

  • What Restoration services do you provide?

We handle comprehensive water extraction, structural drying, mould remediation, and the full repair/reconstruction of your property. We are professionals who ensure the moisture is gone and your home is fully restored to its pre-loss condition.

  • Do you offer 24/7 emergency services?

No. We do not provide 24/7 emergency services. If you have an active leak or a flood that requires immediate response outside of business hours, please contact a dedicated 24-hour emergency mitigation company first. We are available during standard business hours for scheduled water removal, drying, and full restoration services.

  • If I have standing water, can you remove it?

Yes.- We perform professional water extraction using industrial-grade equipment to remove standing water from floors and carpets. However, this is done during our regular business hours and must be scheduled.

  • Why is structural drying necessary?

After water is removed, moisture remains trapped in porous materials like drywall, subfloors, and wood framing. We use specialized air movers and dehumidifiers to completely dry these materials. Failing to dry the structure correctly leads to permanent damage, weakening, and guaranteed mould growth.

  • How long does the structural drying process take?

Drying time is determined by humidity levels, air temperature, and the amount of moisture absorbed by the materials. Typically, the drying phase takes 3 to 5 days of continuous equipment operation and monitoring.

  • How long will the total restoration project take?

The total time depends on the extent of the damage. The initial drying takes days, while the reconstruction and repair phase (new flooring, walls, painting) can take from two weeks to several months. We will provide a detailed timeline after our initial assessment.

  • Can you save my water-damaged materials (carpet, wood floors)?

No. We do not cover materials. With prompt drying and cleaning, some carpets and solid wood floors can be restored. However, materials with heavy contamination (sewage) or items that have been wet for too long often require removal and replacement to prevent health issues
